Privacy Policy

Aleph Digital (“we”, “us”) builds and hosts websites for Australian small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to build, host and bill for your website:

• Account details — your email address, used to sign in and to contact you about your subscription.
• Business content you provide — business name, description, services, trading hours, contact details, address, images and any other content you enter into our form. This is published on your website, so treat it as public.
• ABN — only if you register a .au domain through us, where the registry requires it to establish Australian presence.
• Billing information — handled by Stripe. We receive a customer reference, subscription status and payment history. We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage data — standard analytics such as pages visited, approximate region, referrer and device type.

Why we collect it

• To generate, deploy and host your website.
• To take payment and manage your subscription.
• To register or connect a domain name on your instructions.
• To send service messages — receipts, deployment outcomes, cancellation confirmations.
• To diagnose faults and improve the service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not send marketing email to your customers.

Who we share it with

We use third-party providers to run the service. Each receives only the information needed for its function:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Supabase — account records, site content and uploaded images.
• Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the websites we build.
• Fly.io — our application backend, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
• Vercel — hosting and analytics for this website.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Synergy Wholesale — domain registration, where you buy a domain through us.
• Google Analytics and Google Maps — usage measurement, and the map embed on sites that enable it.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia. By using the service you consent to that disclosure. We take reasonable steps to use providers that offer appropriate protections, but overseas recipients may not be bound by the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to enforce our Terms of Service.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to measure how the site is used, via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, though signing in will not work without them. Websites we build for customers do not carry our analytics.

Security and retention

Data is transmitted over TLS and held by the providers listed above under their own security controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

We keep your account and site content while your subscription is active. After cancellation we retain it for a reasonable period so you can reactivate, then delete it. Billing records are kept for seven years as required by Australian tax law.

Accessing, correcting and deleting your information

You can view and change most of your information from your account page at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you cannot reach yourself, email support@alephdigital.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days. Deletion requests are subject to the retention periods above.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, email support@alephdigital.com.au and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always appears on this page with its last updated date. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be notified by email.
